What to Expect:
Free play with toys, books, and sensory activities
Messy play, arts & crafts
Songs, stories, and circle time.
Tea, coffee & a chat for grown-ups!

This session is open to parents, carers, grandparents – everyone is welcome!
A great way to meet other families and support your child’s development through play.

Purpose of Stay and Play Sessions:

  • Transition into childcare or school by helping children feel comfortable in a new environment with a familiar adult present.
  • Encourage parent-child bonding through shared play.
  • Introduce routines and social interactions typical in early years set up.
  • Give parents insights into how their child plays, learns, and interacts with others.
  • Support parents by offering ideas for play and learning at home.

What Happens During a Stay and Play Session:

  • Children can explore toys, books, puzzles, role-play, crafts and many more.
  • The session is finalised with singing, circle time, or storytelling.
  • Opportunities for social interaction with other children and parents.
  • Time for parents to observe or join in with how practitioners support learning through play.
