Year 1 COVID-19 arrangements

Year 1 Classes

COVID-19 Reopening Arrangements

The adults at school have been excitedly, working hard to plan a safe return for the Year 1 children. We have been into the classrooms and made some changes. Things will be different but keeping children and staff safe is our key priority.

The children will be returning to Year 1 one day a week on either Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday

8.45-2:30PM

There will be no more than 7 children in each Year 1 class, each day.

There will be home learning provided via work given out from school on the day your child is in, activities on the school Blog and Purple Mash.

The children should come to school in their PE kit with school uniform polo tops (this top has buttons & a collar on). If their PE kit is still at school, your child can wear a school uniform top and black or grey leggings, joggers or shorts. Your child can then take their PE kit home with them ready for the following time they are in school.

Your child will need:

  • Two water bottles with water only in.
  • Reading books.
  • If you are bringing lunch from home you can bring it in a named bag. If your child is entitled to free school meals then they will be provided with a packed lunch.
  • Snack (fruit).
  • Sunhat and sun cream for outside learning.

Keeping safe

There will be clearly marked out areas where parents and children should wait when you bring and collect your child. You will need to wait in a line, with a 2-metre space between you and the person in front.

Year 1 staff will call your child by name when it is safe for them to come in.

There will be regular handwashing during the day and hand sanitiser used.

We will clean the Year 1 classrooms thoroughly, ready for each day of learning, including resources used.

We will not be able to use the outdoor play equipment (this includes brothers and sisters) and have fenced it off with tape. Please do not cross the tap.

Please talk through the changes with your child to reassure them for when they come into school.

We thank you for your patience and ongoing support through the Coronavirus.

We will very much look forward to seeing you and your child in school!
