If the child continues to behave in an inappropriate manner and a school rule is broken they are reminded of the school rules for the 2nd time, the procedure outlined in stage 1 is followed. The pupil is given their second warning. They change their card from green to orange.
Stage 3
If another school rule is broken they are reminded of the school rules for the 3rd time, the procedure outlined in stage 1 is followed. The pupil changes their card from orange to red and they have time out for 10 minutes at the “Time out” table in the classroom.
Stage 4
If another school rule is broken they are reminded of the school rules for the 4th time, the procedure outlined in stage 1 is followed. Their card remains red, the date, time and reason is written on the back of the card they go to their partner class for 15 minutes “time out”.
Parents are informed their child has reached this stage by letter from the class teacher.
Stage 5
If another school rule is broken they are reminded of the school rules for the 5th time. The procedure outlined in stage 1 is followed.
Their card remains red, the date, time and reason is written on the back of the card they go to the year group phase leader for 15 minutes “time out”.
Parents are informed their child has reached this stage by letter from the phase leader.
Stage 6
If another school rule is broken they are reminded of the school rules for the 6th time
The child is asked which school rule they have broken.
The child is asked how they should behave. Their card remains red, the date, time and reason is written on the back of the card they go to the Head teacher, Deputy Head Teacher or Assistant Head Teacher for the remainder of the school day.
Parents are informed their child has reached this stage by letter and an appointment is made to see The Head Teacher.
Rewards
The children are rewarded using a system of marbles they collect as a class. The reward is dependant on the amount of marbles.
20 marbles : rewards can include extra time on the trim trail, story and snack in the woods.
40 marbles : rewards include a class picnic, watching a DVD with popcorn
80 marbles: rewards include a trip to the local park or cinema
Children also receive individual rewards on a daily basis including stickers for their sticker charts, letters sent home about the work they have completed in class or going to see Mrs Bennett with their work to receive a special head teacher’s sticker.
